Online streaming has become a lifeline during COVID-19. From tuning into live theatre performances to attending virtual workout sessions, the powers of technology have enabled us to remain connected (even while we stay at home). And for the cinema fans among us, heading to the movies is still something we’re eagerly waiting to return.
In the meantime, the team from Surry Hills’ historical Golden Age Cinema & Bar have launched Bottle Rocket, an online bottle shop and candy bar. Bringing a taste of their boutique cinema experience the living rooms of Sydneysiders, Bottle Rocket boasts a stellar marketplace of natural wine, pre-batched cocktails, craft beer and candy bar treats to keep you well-fed while in iso.
For vino lovers, get ready to sip your way through some of the best natural drops from the likes of Unico Zelo, Brave New Wine, Kindeli and more (with bottles ranging from $24 all the way up to $70).
For those missing a well-made cocktail, grab all your classics from the Golden Age Bar. Bottle Rocket is serving up Classic Negronis, Tommy’s Margaritas, Espresso Martinis and more (most priced at $30 for two serves). Plus, beer lovers will be treated to a bunch of local craft brews from the likes of Grifter, Yulli’s, Sydney Brewery and more.
And a trip to the candy bar wouldn’t be complete without a few classic treats. The Bottle Rocket team have you covered with Gelato Messina choc-tops, house-made popcorn, gourmet lolly bags and more. In true cinephile style, they’ve also curated Combo Boxes themed around cult classic films. Dig into the ‘Spirited Away Combo’ ($37.50), loaded with a Hanzo Spritz, wasabi peas and salty-sweet Pocky sticks. Or, why not give the ‘Lost In Translation Combo’ ($50) a go, packed with Karaoke Kingu beer, Nikka From the Barrel, wasabi pea popcorn and a Hokkaido Baked Strawberry Cheese tart.
Bottle Rocket’s online store is open now, offering free local delivery (within 10km of the venue) on all orders over $100.
