NOLA Smokehouse and Bar is returning with their epic festival, Meat March, dedicated to all things Southern-style smoked.
For four weeks straight, you can enjoy a celebration of fire-roasted, sauce-loaded meaty goodness, paying homage to the flavours of New Orleans. Meat March will include a delicious amount of slow-cooked and smoky meat, with sustainably sourced beef at its forefront.
Bespoke smoked meat options will be available at NOLA’s every day of the week, giving Sydney-siders the best taste of everything Meat March has to offer. Dig into Smoked Tacos on Tuesdays, Wagyu Wednesdays with Beef Tartare and the ultimate favourite, Tomahawk Thursdays – where 1 kg+ tomahawk steaks are wrapped in Jack Daniel’s-soaked muslin cloths, and soaked and aged for 60 days straight. The result is a juicy depth of flavour loaded with sweet and smoky notes everyone will fall in love with!
If you’re up for something more casual, opt for traditional Steak Frites, cooked using 300g on-the-bone sirloin, or order from the bar selection including Bacon and Classic Wagyu Burgers (available daily). Not the biggest fan of meat? The team at NOLA has you covered with smoked fish and vegetarian options available alongside their usual Meat March offerings. Make sure you pair your Meat March madness and wash it all down with NOLA’s expansive collection of wines and American Whiskies – the largest public collection available in the Southern Hemisphere.
As festivities draw to an end, NOLA will be hosting a Southern BBQ Battle kicking off on Saturday, March 25th (lunch event at 12:30pm and dinner event at 6:30pm). Watch as their talented team of head chefs go up against Newcastle’s Smokin Hot ‘n Saucy in an epic smoked meat challenge. Guests will be able to enjoy courses of meat from both teams and vote for their favourite, with the winner taking home the coveted Golden Meat Trophy.
Whilst Meat March has been designed to celebrate all things grilled and smoked, the team at NOLA are also incredibly passionate about the message behind sustainable meat consumption. The team have partnered with Portoro – More Than a Marble Score – to ensure that all produce for Meat March is sourced from sustainability, whilst also minimising waste. Throughout the month, you’ll see all cuts of meat used in clever ways by the team to ensure everything is as sustainable as possible.
NOLA Smokehouse and Bar’s Meat March festival kicks off March 1st, running until the end of the month. To find out more, click here.
