Sydney’s nightlife just scored a game-changer with the opening of Letra House, the latest venture from the Love Tilly Group—the masterminds behind Love Tilly Devine and Ragazzi.
Tucked beneath Palazzo Salato in the CBD, this underground wine bar and restaurant combines moody European charm with a menu that delivers big on Spanish flavours.
Having officially opened its doors, Letra House brings a fresh edge to late-night dining. Think exposed brick, walnut-stained timber, and low lighting. With room for 60 across leather banquettes, bar stools, and high-top tables, the venue is perfect for everything from casual catch-ups to wine-fueled deep dives into obscure grape varieties.
At the heart of Letra House is its dynamic wine menu, led by Love Tilly’s Matthew Swieboda and Head Sommelier Julie Barbero-Lesage. The list features over 50 bottles—available by the glass—ranging from tried-and-true classics to unexpected gems like a Greek Xinomavro and a skin-contact Trebbiano from Paolo Bea. Whether you’re a seasoned sommelier or just wine-curious, this list has something for everyone.
But it’s not all about the wine. Bar Manager Jacob Wicks has crafted a concise cocktail menu with a standout Letra Martini—a mix of Olive Leaf gin, dry Madeira, and a koji-fermented tomato concentrate that packs a punch.
On the food side, the Spanish-inspired menu is a nod to Head Chef Brandon Jones’ and Executive Chef Scott McComas-Williams’ time cooking in Spain. Highlights include Manchego custard donuts, duck croquettes, and traditional tortilla with prawns. There’s also a lineup of shareable plates, cured meats, and whole fish dishes for those settling in for the long haul.
Housed in a building once home to the Letraset company, its branding features cheeky nods to the past with hedonistic angel-and-devil motifs that hint at the pleasures waiting inside.
Letra House is open at 346 Kent Street, Sydney, and bookings are available online. Whether you’re in for a late-night snack or a glass of something unexpected, be tempted by your devilish side and book a table here.
