Introducing You To Sydney’s Largest Rooftop Oasis

Bars, Sydney / 29 October 2021

With panoramic views of the Sydney skyline and the Blue Mountains, Lady Banks Rooftop Bar is set to be the destination of choice this summer!

As the weather warms up, one of our favourite pastimes involves perching up at an alfresco bar and sipping cocktails till sundown. Although we’re spoilt for choice in Sydney with an array of waterside and rooftop options, none feature 360-degree panoramic views of the Sydney skyline and the Blue Mountains. That was until Lady Banks Rooftop Bar opened its giant rooftop sanctuary in the heart of Bankstown.

The ambitious new venue atop Flinders Centre is owned by Bankstown Sports Club. It was named after the Lady Banks Rose which pays homage to Lady Dorothea Banks, wife of botanist and Bankstown namesake Sir Joseph Banks. The restaurant styling is elegant with cascading flowers, pops of greenery, modern interiors, and a charming freestanding fireplace.

The spacious alfresco dining area is the venue’s biggest drawcard boasting views from 10 floors high. Decked out with fairy lights, lounge seating, and pot plants, it is officially Sydney’s largest rooftop bar. Whether you’re settling in for a long lunch in the sunshine or perching up for a romantic evening under the stars, it’s sure to impress your company.

Head Chef Sarah Hanslow is at the helm of the kitchen serving a menu inspired by tapas. It has a distinct Middle-Eastern influence and dishes are designed to be shared from the middle of the table. The menu features a Mezze Board with hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel and flatbread, Wood Roasted Cauliflower, Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder Tagine, and Duck Fat Potatoes with pimento aioli. Other classic share plates include Sydney Rock Oysters with your choice of finger lime, ponzu, and ginger or bloody mary dressing, Burrata with roasted pumpkin, Kingfish Crudo, Charred Octopus, and their signature 1.3kg Pinnacle Tomahawk.

To drink, you’ll find an impressive selection of wines from around the globe along with local and craft beers. Cocktail enthusiasts will be pleased by the inventive creations of the bartenders, especially the Lady Banks Signature with Husk Gin, St Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and lemon juice. Other cocktails include Pirates Paradise with rum, fresh pineapple, passionfruit, and coconut and Midnight Smoke with house blend rum. A  drawcard has to be the Aperitif menu that allows you to have Spritz Your Way; with Aperol, Lemoncello, orange, and passionfruit or pama pomegranate.

Lady Banks Rooftop Bar is exactly the kind of venue Bankstown locals have been pining for and it gives city slickers a reason to escape the city. No matter the season, it’s the perfect place to spend an evening.
