Jarryd James Is Coming To Sydney For YCK Laneways

Music & Tech, Sydney / 10 May 2021

Jarryd James closes out YCK Laneways with a one-off live music event.

It’s no secret that Sydney’s small bar scene has had a rough trot in the last 14 months, which is why YCK Laneways was a much-needed celebration. Spanning across York, Clarence and Kent Streets (YCK), Sydney experienced a dynamic linep-up at participating bars and an injection of fun that was missing from the scene.

The 6-week block party, created to showcase emerging talent and promote the small bars, is now closing out with a one-off major live music event, Live at Barrack Street, headlined by ARIA award winner Jarryd James.

This event features live music performances by a cross mix of musical genres and much-loved artists. Opening the show is indie songstress D’Arcy Spiller and up-and-coming singer-songwriter Budjerah, before being closed out by James who is set to deliver a soulful blend of electro-pop and R‘n’B, a hypnotic style that has awarded him international recognition.

Gates open from 5pm and ticket holders will be kept warm by DJ Levins, a regular fixture on Sydney’s nightlife circuit, and a refreshing selection of Patrón Tequila and Bombay Gin cocktails.

Post-event, Ticket Holders will be encouraged to go out and explore the small bar scene with 50% off of their first festival cocktail at participating bars. This includes the cream of the small bar crop – Since I Left You, Papa Gede’s, Spawn Point, The Barber Shop, The Duke of Clarence, Stitch Bar, Uncle Mings, The Lobo, Prince of York, Burrow Bar, The Rook, Sammy Junior, Grandma’s Bar, Esteban, and The Swinging Cat.
