Guilt-free finger-licking Korean chicken is coming to Darling Square

Eat, Restaurants, Sydney / 10 November 2019

With over 1,000 restaurants across Asia, meet the Korean chicken juggernaut’s flagship Sydney store.

The words ‘fried chicken’ and ‘health-conscious’ don’t often find themselves in the same sentence. But for this powerhouse Korean restaurant, carving out a niche in this popular food market is what they do best. In fitting with Sydney’s love affair with all things Korean, Goobne Chicken is the latest Korean food concept to land in Oz, and we’re mighty excited to see this spot open its doors.

Backed by the success of over 1,000 locations launched across Asia since 2005, Goobne is coming to Haymarket’s new dining precinct Darling Square to serve mouth-watering Korean roasted chicken, sides and drinks to Sydneysiders. The name of the venue roughly translates to oven-roasted, which is what this restaurant does best. On the menu, you’ll find a range of crispy chicken options that are tender and lower in calories than traditional Korean fried chicken options. In fact, there’s not a single drop of oil used in the cooking process at Goobne.

From Hong Kong to Japan, diners have fallen in love with Goobne’s unique guilt-free chicken dishes. On the menu, there are seven flavours of roast chicken to choose from including Deep Cheese, Fruity Soy Garlic and Crispy Pepper. Plus, Sydney diners can expect to sample signature dishes such as UFO Fondue Chicken, which involves dipping your two preferred Goobne chicken drumstick flavours in a veritable trough of gooey, melted cheese. Not in the mood for chicken? No worries. Goobne will also be dishing up noodle dishes, fried rice and even their special Egg rolls (filled with eggs, pickles, carrots, ham, seaweed and cheese, and topped with Goobne signature sauces).

After all that eating, you’ll want to order a refreshing Korean cocktail to cleanse your palette. Try their Corona-Rita (boasting a tequila on the rocks with an upside-down bottle of Corona balancing on top) or even a Sharknado (touted as “a tornado of tropical flavours with a bite”, this is essentially a bowl of blue booze with a large toy shark splashing out the side). The best bit? You can order everything from your phone using the restaurant’s app.

Goobne Chicken’s flaship Sydney store at Darling Square launches on November 11th open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:30am till late. To find out more, click here.
