For those of us craving a balmy Mediterranean summer, we’ve found the next best thing. Located in the heart of North Sydney is Glorietta, an Italian eatery and bar set inside the towering Dexus development. And it’s a spot well-worth adding to your foodie bucket list.

The venue is the latest project from Aaron Crinis (responsible for neighbouring Glory Days cafe as well as a duo of beloved Wollongong venues: Diggies Cafe and Dagwood Bar + Kitchen). It’s an impressive space, able to seat up to 220 punters inside this sprawling, open-plan dining room (once the venue returns to full capacity post-COVID). The luxe Mediterannean fit-out of rattan chairs, timber furnishings and stone finishes comes courtesy of Alexander & Co (responsible for the likes of The Imperial and Stanton & Co).

Whether you opt for snacks and cocktails in the courtyard or take a seat in the dining room, you’ll be in for a treat at Glorietta. From a leisurely long lunch to Friday night drinks and even a data-night dinner, this spot is perfect for every occasion.

Gloritetta’s menu offers classic Italian dishes driven by local produce. The offering is fresh, premium ingredients and minimal intervention to deliver seasonal, sustainable and balanced plates of food. Kick off with starts of burrata with tomato consomme, oysters and kingfish crudo before moving on to larger plates, pasta and pizzas. With 12 delicious pizzas to choose from, you won’t leave hungry.

Make sure to leave room for dessert with Italian classics such as tiramisu, dolci stagionali, cheese boards, and gelato from Sydney-based artisan gelateria Mapo on the menu.

As for drinks, expect a cocktail-focused offering including refreshing spritzes (from $17), negronis, and signature mixes. There’s also plenty of wines to choose from, including classic and nature drops from different vineyards across Italy, Australia, and beyond. Make sure to swing by from 3-6 pm daily to enjoy Glorietta’s Aperitivo Time, delivering $12 spritz and negronis as well as $6 house beer and wines.
