The once-site of Sydney’s iconic Kings Cross institution Bayswater Brasserie has been transformed into late-night lounge bar Eros, channeling the Mykonos vacay vibes that 2020 stole from us.
From the team that brought us Sinaloa, Potts Point has landed an all-new, not quite restaurant, not quite nightclub experience. Launching this week, vibe-seeking Sydneysiders can now enjoy Greek meze, playful cocktails and bottle service, before partying the night away.
Enter through the olive-tree clad lobby to find whitewashed stone interiors, curved archways and traditional style ceramics. The clean, bright styling is a clear nod to its design inspiration, Mykonos’ party destination Scorpios. Venture through the open plan space and you’ll reach the pièce de résistance, a skylit bar and courtyard all set to greet your dancing feet.
To fuel the hours on the dance floor, Eros has lined up a feastable menu of classic Greek meze style dishes. Light bites include Chargrilled Halloumi with oregano, lemon, chili and honey, and traditional Spanakopita Fingers. If you’re looking to go all out and light up the ‘gram in the process, you can order a personal whole pig or lamb spit to your table, served with Greek salad, pita bread and Greek cut chips.
The cocktail menu is a nod to Mykonos and Parga beach, sure to impress every palate with refreshing summer flavours. Get lost in the history of Greece with the Greek God/Goddess-inspired cocktail namesakes of Eros, Apollo and our favourite Aphrodite – a floral tincture of Grey Goose Vodka, Rosewater, Strawberries and Rosemary.
Resident DJs will play on Friday and Saturday nights, in the venues ‘front room’, spinning R & B and hip hop. Meanwhile, the back waxy grotto will be reserved for Greek Island style disco-house and chilled house classics with plans to introduce live saxophone and entertainment in the coming months.
Borrowing its name from the Greek god of love, Eros promises all the connection and energy we’ve been missing on the dance floor and you can catch it all starting this weekend!
