This Darlinghurst Rooftop Bar Is Transforming Into A Tropical Beach Club

Bars, Drink, Sydney / 10 February 2020

Flock to East Village and head for the roof to sip frozen cocktails and sample seafood bites all summer long.

Summer might nearly be behind us, but Sydney is still giving us plenty of reasons to get outdoors. For those of us living and working in the inner city, flocking to the beach can seem like the only way to get our dose of tropical vibes. But, this latest pop-up concept is about to bring a taste of the coast to the heart of Darlinghurst.

From now until the end of summer Darlinghurst’s iconic watering hole East Village is set to transform into a tropical oasis. Boasting one of Sydney’s best rooftop spaces (with sweeping views across the city skyline and beyond) get ready to experience the East Village Beach Club. Taking inspiration from waterfront beach clubs you’d find dotted around Santa Monica, this limited edition bar concept is set to give Sydneysiders plenty of reason to gather their crew and drink alfresco this month.

Running until Sunday, March 1st, the East Village Beach Club has taken over the venue’s rooftop terrace with a complete fit-out overhaul. In fitting with the Beach Club concept, expect everything from tropical palms to festoon lighting as well as playful beach-inspired touches at every turn.

As for the menu, East Village is set to be serving up delicious beach-inspired eats and drinks curated for balmy summer evenings. The rooftop has been fitted with a slushie machine, set to pour frozen piña Coladas and the oh-so-refreshing summer drink, frosé all night long. Plus, you can even score a mini bucket cocktail filled with Midori illusions or blue lagoon mixes (tiny umbrellas included). As for eats, diners can snack their way through a curated menu of eats including everything from fresh oysters to prawn rolls and spicy tater tots.

The East Village Beach Club pop-up is on now and running until March 1st 2020. To find out more, click here.
