Cargo have two offerings this Melbourne Cup. Take a seat downstairs and enjoy a glass of Moet & Chandon Imperial Ice Champagne on arrival followed by a set 3-course menu for $125pp. Start with a selection of entrées included crispy fried chicken ribs with jalapeño mayonnaise, mushroom arancini with black garlic oil and pulled pork sliders. Moving to mains choose between a braised beef short rib with mash potato and pickled shallots or a king salmon with a warm mustard potato salad. Dessert will be a smorgasbord of canapé sized delights. Pick at salty caramel sticky date, praline chop buns, flourless chocolate cake and plum crumble tarts.
Or head upstairs for the same price and enjoy roaming canapés and a 3-hour beverage package. The canapé selection includes a list of cold and hot offerings to suit any desire. Freshly shucked oysters, prawn, cucumber and coriander rice paper rolls and bean burritos will be served cold, while hot canapés include sun dried tomato, fetta and olive quiches and lamb skewers with mint and cumin yogurt.
You’ll be able to watch the race live on big screens in both sections and partake in sweepstakes. It all kicks off from 12pm and there will be DJs after the race.
