Now Open: Sydney’s First Self Serve Bar

Cool Sh*t, Drink / 13 March 2023

There’s no wonder why Buddy’s is the talk of Newtown… Check out Sydney’s first-ever self-serve boozery!

Buddy’s in Newtown has made history by becoming the city’s first self-serve bar. This innovative concept has been a huge hit thus far with patrons, especially those who appreciate the ability to pour their own drinks and customise their drinking experience.

The bar plays host to 33 taps with a wide variety of beers, wines, house-made cocktails, and non-alcoholic options on offer. Customers receive a prepaid card upon entry, which is then used to pour their drinks. The system is designed to ensure that customers only pay for the exact amount they consume, making it an affordable option for those who want to try a variety of drinks.

One of the biggest benefits of the self-serve bar is that customers can serve themselves, eliminating the need for a bartender. This allows Buddy’s to operate more efficiently, with fewer staff required. It also allows customers to enjoy their drinks at their own pace, without having to wait for service.

If you’re feeling peckish you can hit up Rub-A-Dub for a feed. The menu features all your favourite snack dishes like nachos, flatbread Italian pizzas, and their famous chicken ribs.

The casual, friendly atmosphere of the bar encourages customers to relax and socialise, making it a great place to unwind after a long day. There are also DJs every Friday & Saturday night if you want to get down.

The self-serve bar makes it easy for customers to try new drinks and experiment with different combinations. With no need to commit to a full glass or bottle, patrons can try as many different beverages as they want without fear of wasting money.

Buddy’s is an exciting addition to Sydney’s bar scene offering a unique and innovative experience. Whether you’re a seasoned drinker or just looking for a fun night out, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Buddy’s is open Wednesday – Friday from 4pm – 12am and Saturday & Sunday from 12pm – 12am. Find out more here.
