Smoothies during the day, cocktails at night – this is what the new eatery on level one of the Eastern Hotel in Bondi Junction is all about.
Guy Turland and Mark Alston are behind the new Bondi Harvest restaurant that boasts a food philosophy focusing on healthy, tasty meals. Keeping it easy and simple, the menu will change seasonally to stay flavourful and interesting. With many great options on the menu, we headed down to check out the ‘naughty’ and ‘nice’ meals they had to offer.
We were welcomed with a colourful selection of mini smoothie samples including First Date ($9.5), Go Nuts ($9.5) and the BH Special ($9.5).
They also offered a selection of cold pressed juice tasters including the Evergreen ($8), YOLO ($8), BH Switchel ($8) and the Ginger Blush ($8). Don’t worry these are just sample sizes! And don’t you just love the names?
Guests are recommended to pick their salad (all salads $15) from the Seasonal Plate selection and then add their protein from a selection of lamb, chicken, fish and haloumi at an extra cost. Our first dish was the Chilli Ginger Lime Broccoli Salad ($15) which was paired perfectly with the Grilled Haloumi ($5) and followed by the Pastrami Smoked Salmon Sambo ($17).
Our second consisted of Quinoa Salad Pumpkin ($15) and paired with the Pulled Lamb ($7) which complimented each other nicely. We also tried the Grilled Chicken Sambo ($15).
Most dishes are gluten-free and paleo but offer a food reflection of the Bondi lifestyle.
On one side of the large bar you’ll find cocktails served to retox you and on the other a fresh juice bar to detox.
Bondi Harvest will be launching a dinner menu on the 28th of January and open till late where you’ll be able to try these freshly squeezed fruit cocktails.
