Sydney was given it’s first taste of Belle’s Hot Chicken last year at a series of pop-ups all over Sydney and crowds went wild. It was in such hot demand they completely ran out of chicken! And now, they return, ready to feed Sydney a proper meal with a nine-month long residency down at Barangaroo, opening November 25 2015.
The Southern-style fried chicken joint opened it’s first store in Melbourne last year to long queues and business keeps booming. The brainchild is chef Morgan McGlone, who worked his way through South Carolina and Nashville, before returning to Australia, bringing a little bit of the deep South back with him. Belle’s Hot Chicken is all about authentic Nashville hot chicken, serving up some mighty tasty wings, tenders and drumsticks, ranging from mild to Really F**king Hot (their description, not ours.)
Sydney’s menu will be a smaller offering to Melbourne’s but will feature the classics, including the popular chicken sandwich, with iceberg and dripping with good-good sauce. Or if you’re looking to go all out, Belle’s Baller Bucket knocks any KFC bucket out of the park. And they also have the vegetarian option of mushrooms in all their meals, if you are so inclined.
So Sydney, prepare your stomachs for some finger-licking fried chicken, open for eat-in and takeaway down at the new Wulugul Pop Up in Barrangaroo. Get there before the kitchen runs out again!
