Circular Quay’s favourite casually-chic Mexican restaurant and Bar Patrón celebrates the start of a new decade with a night to remember.

With sweeping views across Sydney’s sparkling harbour, Bar Patrón is one of the city’s most spectacular authentic Mexican restaurants. From aromatic tacos to refreshing salt-rimmed margaritas, this venue’s fresh, flavour-packed menu has won over Sydneysiders and visitors alike. And this New Year’s Eve, Bar Patrón is set to host an epic night of celebrations to ring in the start of a new decade.

Boasting killer harbour views and DJ sets from 8pm till late, revelers can indulge in a refreshing line-up of traditional Mexican flavours. With breathtaking views of the Harbour Bridge and fireworks, plenty of window-side tables and a stylish hacienda feel, Bar Patrón offers one of the best seats in Sydney for New Year’s Eve.  There are two sittings available: the earlier sitting requires guests to leave before 9:30pm (with a minimum spend of $150 per person), while the second sitting invites guests to arrive from 9:30pm onwards (with a minimum spend of $250 per person).

To mark the start of a new decade, Bar Patrón will be offering guests an exclusive NYE set menu available in either six ($109pp) or eight courses ($129pp). Kick-off the evening with the tropical tang of a Hibiscus granita, an infusion of Patrón Silver tequila, freeze-dried mandarin and finger limes, before moving on to a divine set menu celebrating the best of Australia’s local produce treated with a Mexican twist. Start with Octopus Vuelve a la vida, with the exquisite seafood served in a fusion of tomato orange and kimchi sauce, samphire, finger lime, onions and avocado; before moving on to flavourful mains such as Short rib Suadero taco, showcasing Black Angus short rib braised for 24 hours and topped with chicharron, martajada salsa, lime, crispy shallots and coriander; and Duck a la diabla – or duck breast served with spicy chipotle adobo, gai lan, garlic shoots, mandarin and marigold.

For those who’d rather curate their own Mexican dining experience, an a la carte menu is also available. Cocktail shaking bar staff will be mixing up premium tequila-based cocktails all night long. Start with Mexican classics like the Paloma ($21), El Diablo ($22) and Tommy’s Margarita ($24) before moving on to more innovative drinks like ‘The Walking Dead’ featuring Patrón Silver, passionfruit, pineapple, lime and mango ($26) and even an oh-so-refreshing Frozen Margarita ($23).
