Don your Sunday best at Sydney’s 2016 Fifties Fair!
Come and celebrate all things 50s at the 2016 Fifties Fair, hosted at the iconic Rose Seidler House on Sunday 21st August. Running from 10am to 4pm, this heritage home will be converted into a carefully curated marketplace. Vintage wares, hair stylists, live music, delicious food and car displays are just some of the things to expect.
Vintage clothing collectors like The Vintage Drawer , Mrs Peel and Rudi Rocket invite you to take a step back in time and do some specialty clothing and mid-century furniture shopping. Joy Bee Jewellery is set to also present an electric range of costume jewellery along with vintage handbags and suitcases.
Live music is set to keep your toes tapping over the course of the day, with rock n’ roll at the main stage as well as live bands, DJs and swing dancing demonstrations. Keep your eyes peeled for names like The Hi-Boys. Having rocked the scene for the last two years, this brotherly duo have mastered the sounds of a traditional 1950s rock band. That Redhead, a Sydney blues inspired songstress, will also be gracing the main stage with her soaring vocals.
If you find yourself peckish after a morning of shopping and grooving, swing past the gourmet food and snacks stalls of Sydney’s hippest foodies. The Sydney Morning Herald’s 2013 ‘Chef of the Year’ winners, Porteno’s Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz, will be firing up the burners again with an Argentinian barbecue inspired menu.
For the vintage car lovers in the room, take a further look through Rose Seidler House. It won’t take long before you stumble across a classic car display deemed bigger and better than ever before.
