Get ready for ‘A Party For Melbourne’, hosted by Attica and The Avalanches.

With music events and gigs postponed and Melbourne navigating Stage 4 restrictions, we’re all searching for ways to brighten up our week. The idea to offer a sense of ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ to those navigating lockdown is exactly what inspired this latest virtual event, hosted by a duo of Melbourne locals.

‘A Party for Melbourne‘ is the one-night-only FREE virtual house party hosted by Ben Shewry (chef and owner of the acclaimed Melbourne restaurant, Attica) and Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi (founding members of Melbourne’s electronic music group The Avalanches). Taking place on Saturday, September 12th, the digital event hopes to bring a slice of joy and fun into the homes of anyone affected by COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria (and around Australia).

Prior to the event, Ben Shewry will be releasing a series of curated ‘How to Party’ videos, packed with tips and tricks on party food and how to turn your living room in a disco. These videos will premiere a week prior to the event and will be published on the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival’s website (along with the social channels of Shewry, Attica and MFWF). Get ready for recipes such as cheese and pineapple hedgehogs, better than sausage sausage rolls and even hectic prawn cocktails.

And on the night? Get ready for support set from DJ Soju Gang followed by an epic hour-long live set from headline act The Avalanches.

This epic feel-good virtual event is presented by Brick Lane Brewing alongside Melbourne Food & Wine Festival and Tourism Australia. Ticket registrations are now open and attendees will receive an exclusive link to the live-streamed event (hosted on YouTube) the day prior to A Party for Melbourne.
