Messina x Drumstick Launch New Collaborative Ice Cream Cone

Cool Sh*t / 16 January 2019

This is not a drill – you can now get Messina x Drumstick ice cream cones from your local supermarket and convenience store.

Getting your hands on a scoop of Messina gelato is now (dangerously) easier than ever, thanks to a mouth watering collaboration between ice cream connoisseurs Messina and veterans Peters Drumstick. The humble Peters ice cream cone has been part of Australian culture since 1963, with Messina entering the scene with its mind blowing artisan gelato in 2002.

This latest collaborative venture might however be one of their best yet. It’s not Messina’s first collaboration to appear in the supermarket aisles – with the launch of their first collaborative supermarket product – the Gelato Messina Tim Tam range.

That being said, the Drumstick X Messina range is the first foray into the frozen aisle. Four flavours have now hit the shelves, available in all major supermarkets and convenience stores.

Expect the likes of Mango & Salted Coconut, made using Kensington Pride mango sorbet entwined with Murray River Salted Coconut sorbet, swirled with Kensington Pride Mango sauce and topped with toasted coconut flakes.

If that doesn’t take your fancy, perhaps Vanilla Bean & Peanut Praline will. It’s comprised of rich three fold vanilla bean ice cream, topped with a sweet & salty peanut praline and dark chocolate sauce.

Other flavours include Roasted Hazelnut, made using Messina’s unique hazelnut sauce swirled through indulgent chocolate gelato, topped with roasted hazelnuts plus Dulce de Leche made with milk chocolate ice cream, Messina’s trademark Dulce de Leche sauce, mixed with chocolate coated biscuit pieces.

All major supermarkets will sell the 4 flavours in boxes of 4 for RRP $9.00 and convenience stores will stock the Mango & Salted Coconut and Roasted Hazelnut flavours separately for RRP $4.90. Go get em.

Take note though, you won’t find Messina x Drumstick ice cream cones in Messina stores!
