Welcome to Thornbury Hawker Market, Thornbury

Bars, Events, Melbourne / 30 August 2016

Say hello to spring with an Asian hawker-style food truck market at Welcome to Thornbury

With winter closing the door, spring’s finally getting the chance to shine in Melbourne. So what could be better than a buzzing hawker-style market with music, festivities and Asian cuisines at Welcome to Thornbury bar and food truck stop?
Pick a spot on one of the long tables in the garden where hanging lanterns swing in the night air and sip on a special Green Tea cocktail that’s been created for the occasion, or one of the cold beers available on tap.
Tempt your taste buds with the kaleidoscope of Asian flavours mingling from the line up of Melbourne’s best Asian food trucks. Look out for the likes of Lil’ Nom Noms, Nem N’ Nem, Ghost Kitchen, Lets Do Yum Cha, Bibimbap and Butterlake.
Bibimbap-bowl-Welcome-
They’ll be serving up a tasty feast of banh mi sliders, barbecue pork buns, salt n’ pepper popcorn chicken, dim sims, spring rolls and of course everyone’s favourite, dumplings. If your crew are the tuck-in-and-share type, you’ll get the chance to work your way through quite a few of the dishes on offer.
Make sure you keep some room for dessert as Butterlake will be dishing up Taiwanese street food pancakes filled with drool-inducing flavours like Nutella or cookies and cream with coconut.
The Hawker Market opens at 5pm and will be serving food until 9.30pm, and there’ll be time for a couple more drinks after. This is the perfect opportunity for a mid-week catch up with your besties and to sample the best of Asian grub from Melbourne’s food truck community.
Welcome to Thornbury is led by the same team behind Melbourne favourites Mr Burger, Portello Rosso, Murmur, Brunswick Mess Hall, The General Assembly and The Mint.
