Australian family winery, Taylors Wines, have just revealed their highly anticipated 2023 Family Flagship Release.

Since 1969, Taylors Wines has been a winemaking trendsetter. They’ve stayed true to their roots while embracing sustainable practices and modern techniques. Their diverse, award-winning wines are a testament to this balance.

The Family Flagship Release is in its second year. It pays homage to the Taylor family’s significant influence on Australian winemaking. This carefully curated collection is the fruit of their labour, passion, and partnership with local growers.

Wine Lovers Rejoice: The Family Flagship Reveal

This year’s release brought excitement. It introduced new vintages from the St Andrews and Masterstroke ranges. But, the 2016 vintages of The Pioneer Shiraz, The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon, and The Legacy stole the show.

The release featured ten unique wines. Each one reflects Taylors’ signature blend of concentrated flavours and elegance. The fruits from the Clare Valley Estate shine brightly in many of these wines. You can also find notes from McLaren Vale and Coonawarra in the Masterstroke range.

The 2016 Legacy stood out. Created to mark the family’s 50th anniversary, this Old World-inspired Cabernet blend is a showstopper. Limited to just 1,080 bottles, The Legacy pairs strength and elegance beautifully.

Vintage of a Lifetime: Celebrating Perfect Conditions

According to Mitchell Taylor, the winery’s third-generation director, 2016 was a standout year. Ideal weather during flowering and frost-free conditions made this vintage particularly special for the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

The Legacy matured for 36 months in carefully selected, lightly toasted Jean Louis Vicard barrels. This allowed the oak to infuse the wine with a rich texture and robust savoury notes.

The launch on July 20th kicked off a series of global tastings. Taylors Wines 2023 Family Flagship Release wines are now available at www.taylorswines.com.au, fine wine retailers, and Taylors Wines’ Clare Valley Cellar Door.
