Sweet-toothers rejoice! An all new food and music festival experience, Sweetstock, is coming to Melbourne in March next year and its bound to take you on the best sugar ride of your life.
The fun-filled weekend promises cake battles, dessert challenges, the most decadent food trucks, and special celebrity guests. You can also expect street performers showcasing their best circus acts and awesome live music to dance the night away. Headlining the Sweetstock festival are popular dance duo, Sneaky Sound System. EDM artist Alice Ivy and Melbourne pop stars, Approachable Members Of Your Local Community will also be attendance with more acts to be announced.
If you’ve got a dessert recipe down pat, why not put your skills to the test in the Australian Dessert Championships? Get a team of 3 together and challenge other teams in baking the best cupcakes, cheesecakes, pies and tarts. The competition will be fierce as anyone from home cooks to professionals can enter, with a delicious $5,000 prize up for grabs. For those who love to eat rather than bake, there is a spot for you in the Donut Throwdown competition. Fit as many donuts as you can into your belly within 3 minutes to win a prize of $2,000. You can also put down your aprons for the day and watch Australia’s best bakers live on stage in their own 60 minute SBS Food Cake battle.
America’s most sought after cake connoisseur, Duff Goldman, will be making a special appearance at Sweetstock. Known best for his crazy over-the-top creations, he will be hosting a one off masterclass which you can find out more here.
On top of all the sugary 2 day goodness, there are also show bags, a sweet expo, live art, and free kids rides. Bubbly and cider are also provided (thankfully) as the perfect cherry on top to a sweet festival.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. Sweetstock will be running from 28th-29th March 2020, and tickets are $40 an adult. Kids under 12 can attend free.
