Drink straight from the source at Patient Wolf Gin’s new Urban Distillery and Bar.

Earlier this year we announced the planned opening of Patient Wolf Gin’s new Urban Distillery and Bar in Southbank. Ahead of their October opening, we were lucky enough to be invited in for a first look and first taste of the newly refurbished venue and it’s experimental cocktail menu.

Just a 15 minute walk from Flinders Station, you will find Patient Wolf’s brand new working distillery and bar. Hidden behind a mysterious black door in an old warehouse, the modern industrial interior is immediately reminiscent of Southbank’s industrial past. This vibe works harmoniously with Patient Wolf’s contemporary interpretation of gin distilling. The bar space is rustic with exposed brick walls, minimalist seating and gin bottles lined up like a prized trophy wall. While sitting at the bar, you can admire the 220-litre Müller copper still in the working area of the distillery.

With the arrival of a new 1000-litre still in 2020 this urban distillery is set to take over as Victoria’s largest independent distillery. The brand new still is expected to fit out the triple height ceiling space in the production area. The perfect centre piece for any gin bar.

A behind-the-scenes experience for all gin enthusiasts.

This exciting new addition to Southbank will offer a behind-the-scenes experience where one can learn about Patient Wolf’s boutique hand-crafted gins, tour the working distillery, and join in gin masterclasses lead by brand ambassador, Blake Hall. The aim is to have a great drink, a great time and still learn a thing or two about Patient Wolf and their gin making process. This includes an introduction to how Patient Wolf began, along with a tasting of their gins, while also being educated on everything, from the sourcing of native and exotic botanicals, to how they infuse their gins.

The new Patient Wolf bar will seat up to 30 guests, and serves an extensive list of gin flights, negronis, vermouths and experimental concoctions. Each cocktail will use one of the three Patient Wolf gins including venue exclusives that won’t be found anywhere else.

The brand new and exciting boozy venue will be open for bookings and walk-ins. It’s set to officially open mid October, so keep on eye on their social where they will announce the official date.
