Eat, Melbourne / 10 October 2019

Birrarung Marr will be transformed into a massive hawker market once again.

If you’ve ever had a craving for local street style Asian food after dark, your prayers have just been answered. The eagerly awaited Melbourne Night Noodle Markets are returning for another year to set the city alight with the smells, sights and sounds of over 20 food stalls.

Explore sweet and spicy flavours of Malaysia, Vietnam, China and beyond along the hustle and bustle of vibrant hawker style markets. Hoy Pinoy will be serving their famous Fillipino BBQ and street food. If your taste buds are up for something lighter, quirky cone shaped cheese waffles can be found at Poklol x Puffle and fresh fluffy steamed buns from Wonderbao. Of course you should always leave room for dessert. Why not try Scoopy Milk Bar’s Korean shaved ice, or Kumokumo’s fluffy pillow soft pancakes? Other stalls such as Bangkok Street Food, Flying Noodles, Let’s Do Yum Cha, and Messina will also be joining, creating their signature dishes and exciting new snacks.

For those wanting to seek a VIP experience and escape the crowds, Citi is opening its doors to customers and non-customers to relax in The Citi Lounge, a Melbourne laneway styled bar. If you’re in attendance, you can play the ‘Citi Wall of Fortune’ game; simply pick one of the 300+ stacked noodle boxes to see if it contains a special prize inside. The night markets are also welcoming Jacob’s Creek for the first time. If you’re a wine lover, the Jacob’s Creek Wine Tipi will be the perfect spot for you. Grab a seat and enjoy a glass of wine expertly matched and paired exclusively to your food.

Alongside all the food festivities, there’s also be live music and DJs to enjoy throughout the night. The Malt Shovel Beer Garden will serve 10 different styles of beer whilst Marriott Bonvoy is reimagining the roaring 1920’s with Root Beer Floats, Shirley Temples and Spiders on the menu.

Venessa Cowell, Head of Food Events, said: “The Night Noodle Markets has established itself as one of Melbourne’s biggest and most popular food events, capturing the imagination of Melbourne year after year. We can’t want to celebrate the city’s multicultural flavours”

The Night Noodle Markets are happening from 7th November to 24th November. The markets are also cash-free; all major cards are accepted or Good Food $50 cash cards can be purchased on the night. To view the full program of events, click here.
