The Gelato Fiasco Log Cabin is coming…
Renowned Portland gelato company Gelato Fiasco have just launched in Australia and to celebrate they are opening a pop up shop in Fitzroy called The Log Cabin. Open from 5th August to 11th September every Thursday to Sunday you can try their weird and wacky flavours.
Each pint of Gelato Fiasco contains pockets of sauce and and unexpected ingredients such as the WAKE N’ BACON, a pancake flavoured gelato with maple syrup and bacon flavoured candies. Other flavours include THE BIG COUNTY BROWNIE a mint flavoured gelato with brownie pieces and THE LOG CABIN made with chocolate gelato, whiskey syrup with Sriracha flake coated almonds. There’s also the popular MAINE MUNCHIES with peanut butter gelato with salted choc pretzels.
Two scoops will set you back $7 with lots of added extra toppings at no extra cost. Each gelato comes served in a black waffle cone.
Gelato Fiasco is the brainchild of Portland, Maine’s Josh Davis and Bruno Tropeano, who spent years learning the techniques and practices of the original Italian masters of gelato. Their six-week pop up will take place on Johnston St, Fitzroy.
Josh and Bruno, will be in town for the launch of the pop up. Sharing their insights into why the global gelato brand is so popular they said “We seek to honour the truest traditions of Italy, using the best ingredients and have defined our own approach based on our own lives lived in Maine. Because really, gelato shouldn’t be boring.”
