Edgeley Summer Collection Launch Party, Fitzroy

Melbourne, Play / 11 October 2016

The Edgeley summer collection launch brings fashion, gin and Marawa to Fitzroy

Fitzroy’s Gertrude Street is a hotbed of local fashion, design talent and home to the Edgeley shop which serves as retail space, design studio, fitting room and inspiration haven. With summer peering over the hills and our winter wardrobes getting ready to hibernate until next year, the Edgeley Spring Summer 16/17 collection launch is coming at just the right time.
The new Spring Summer 16/17 collection was inspired by retro and arthouse films that designer Alice watched on SBS during the long winter months.
From Wong Kar Wai ‘s 2046 to Pam Grier in Coffy, I was swooning and sketching,’ says Alice.
The launch party will feature local creatives and performers who will bring the fun while Alice brings the fashion. Bad girl DJ Tanzer will be spinning your favourite tunes and there’ll be a special guest performance by Marawa the Amazing: she is indeed, amazing!

There will also be complimentary Four Pillars gin and tonics to sip on as you enjoy the show! The Edgeley shop gets busy ahead of a launch so do go a little early if you want room to try on the new offerings and pick out your favourite pieces.

Alice produces two collections a year as well as of one-off creations and custom designed pieces. The shop also stocks a selection of hand-picked designers who share the Edgeley ethos, curated by Alice’s expert eye. These include hand-made leather accessories by Tusler, pop art perspex earrings by Doodad and Fandango and the modern minimalism of Nevada Duffy.
The shop and its eclectic collections have helped to turn the area into a vibrant design destination where stylish sorts discover boutique designers that are unmistakably Melbourne.
