Brunswick’s CULT Cinema & Bar is back!
Throughout November, this pop-up bar in Brunswick will be transfixing film buffs with movie throwbacks. From iconic soundtracks to big hair and ground-breaking special effects CULT Cinema & Bar is reigniting our undying love for the 80s and 90s with five weeks of movie showings.
Forget the local cinema, this is no ordinary “Cheap Tuesday” affair. CULT Cinema & Bar is an over 18 licensed venue that transports our childhood movie favourites into the present day. From the ditzy Clueless, to the mind-bendingly freaky The Shining, all your nostalgic youthful obsessions will be paired with an immersive experience set in a fluorescent retro space.
Of course it wouldn’t be a bar without a drink. CULT Cinema & Bar is teaming with some of Melbourne’s finest liquor connoisseurs and foodies to provide the ultimate adult cinema experience. Taste the insanity of a Moloko Plus from A Clockwork Orange or match the Italian mayhem of Goodfellas with a mouth-watering pizza from S.P.Q.R. Pizzeria. On some nights your night at the movies will even be paired with a trendy DJ set or a insightful Q&A.
Even if you are too afraid to sit through the entirety of Alien, never fear! Like any good drinking hole, CULT Cinema & Bar has a Cult Happy Hour. From 6pm until 7pm, Monday to Thursday the pop-up will be stirring $12 Four Pillars Negronis and pouting schooners of Hawkers Pale Ale for $6.
With pops of cinema art and a high fluorescent lit ceilings, designer Jasmine McClelland has transformed Brunswick Mechanic’s Institute into the perfect movie fanatic hangout.
By providing a mix of retro movies and irresistible liquor, CULT Cinema & Bar is the ultimate childhood throwback.
