A taste of one of London’s most revered bars is coming to Australia this November. The American Bar Takeover is here.
A melting pot of decadence, frivolity and all things hanky-panky, England’s longest surviving bar has been serving cocktails to the who’s who of London nightlife since the start of the 20th Century. The American Bar at The Savoy has outlasted countless Prime Ministers, five monarchs, two world wars and was the birth place of the famed hangover cure, the raw egg and Worcestershire sauce creation, the Prairie Oyster. Now, The American Bar Takeover is giving Sydney and Melbourne the opportunity to share in the history of this iconic bar.
This October, Martin Hudak, Senior Bartender at The American Bar, will arrive in Australia thanks to Mr Black Spirits. With tall glasses and stirrers at the ready, Hudak is ready to unleash his shaken and stirred masterpieces at the Black Pearl in Fitzroy and Eau De Vie in Darlinghurst.
Serving up Mr Black infused cocktail creations, including the Hanky Panky, Green Park and the Black Diamond, Hudak is excited to bring his concoctions Down Under.
“The American Bar is an institution, temple and peak of the hotel hospitality industry and I am thrilled to be able to introduce it to Sydney bartenders and cocktail lovers,” says Hudak. “I can’t wait to work alongside some of Australia’s best bartenders and share my passion for coffee and liquor with the guests”
For only two nights, in both Sydney and Melbourne, cocktail enthusiasts can partake in this experience. Greeted by the staff from The American Bar, guests will enjoy the cocktails inspired by the bar that, in 2016, was voted the Best Bar in Europe.
Although entry to The American Bar Takeover is free, the demand for Hudak and his creations is sure to be high in Sydney and Melbourne.
