David Jones And BP Have Launched 21 Luxe Convenience Stores Across Australia

Expect 350+ David Jones-branded food products including free-range rotisserie chooks, lasagne, vegan-friendly meals and more.

A dash to the convenience store is rarely newsworthy. It’s an exercise in efficiency, a grab-and-go encounter that we make on-the-road or when running low on the essentials. But unlike your typical corner shop, we’ve found a stack of new convenience stores set to elevate the experience with a luxe new offering.

Meet David Jones and BP’s new range of co-branded convenience stores. Following the success of the duo’s existing 10 trial stores, the partnership is set to continue with an additional 21 new stores set to open across Sydney and Melbourne by the end of 2020 (with a total of 31 dual-branded stores set to open across both cities by the end of the year).

For anyone who has visited David Jones’ food court, you’ll be well acquainted with the kind of gourmet treats that will be served at these convenience stores. Designed for busy city customers, the stores will offer both ready-to-eat and cook-at-home options, with 350+ products set to be stocked in these stores.

On the menu, you’ll find everything from sushi and gourmet sandwiches to free-range rotisserie chooks, lasagne, indulgent mac-n-cheese and curries as well as plenty of dessert options (including panna cotta and salted caramel pudding). They’ll event be gourmet groceries on hand include meats, oils, delicious peanut butter and plenty of head-at-home meals. Plus, each location will offer a range of products for delivery via Uber Eats for those than don’t want to venture out for a feed.

For Melburnians, expect stores to arrive in Merrifield, Clyde, Epping, Caroline Springs, Eltham, Greenvale and Kingsway ni the coming weeks and months. For Sydneysiders, 14 stores are set to open in suburbs such as Kellyville, Marden Park, Seven Hills, Willoughby, Caringbah, Mosman, Sydenham, Penrith, Thornleigh, Asquith, Engadine, Peninsula, West Ryde and Ourimbah.
