BierYoga? Namaste around for that!
First there was SUP (aka stand-up paddle) yoga, then wine yoga courtesy of the Vino n Vinyasa team. Doga has even become a thing, giving pooch lovers the chance to perform their best downward dog with their fur baby. Now the latest craze spreading all over the country is BierYoga!
Although beer and yoga may seem like a peculiar duo, both are century old therapies for the mind, body and soul. The practice of sipping on beer whilst performing your best tree pose has also burst onto the Aussie scene. It follows a successful 12 month trial in Berlin, the Motherland of a good brew. BierYoga originally launched their Australian tour at the start of 2017 in both Sydney and Melbourne. There are now only 2 more classes remaining in Melbourne on Wednesday 15th and 22nd February at The Village and only one class left in Sydney this Sunday 19th February at The Sheaf in Double Bay.
So what can you expect? In a 60 minute class drinking is incorporated into all of your typical yoga poses. If you’re looking for some budget fun, this is the activity for you, with classes priced at only $10. All you need to bring is your yoga mat, a towel, and some cash to buy a few ales at the bar on the day. Don’t fret if you’re only a beginner, BierYoga encourages everyone with a fun loving attitude. We’ll cheers to that.
Without further ado, why not grab your favourite drinking buddies and get loose in more ways than one.
