Chowder Bay has a new waterfront destination with the opening of Cafe La Mer, from the team behind Bistro L’Heritage and Frenchy’s Cafe.
This casual French-inspired spot serves coffee and light bites by day, transforming into a sunset drinks venue on Fridays and Saturdays.
Located in the historic Magazine Stores precinct, Cafe La Mer offers classic French pastries, croque monsieurs, and premium coffee from 7 AM to 3 PM daily. As the sun sets (Fridays and Saturdays from October to March), the focus shifts to champagne, rosé, and cocktails paired with oysters, prawns, and charcuterie boards—perfect for a relaxed evening by the water. For beachgoers and picnickers, the café stocks French snacks, crisps, and sweets. A winter menu featuring mulled wine and grazing plates is set to launch soon.
