Sammy Junior x Salumerie Pop-Up Brings Potts Point to the CBD

Salumerie’s legendary focaccia sandwiches are taking a delightful detour to Sammy Junior.

For Sydney’s lunchtime crowd, the news of a collaboration between two rising stars of the city’s food scene is cause for celebration. From May 6th to 31st, Sammy Junior in the CBD will be playing host to a pop-up by the immensely popular Potts Point eatery, Salumerie. This exciting partnership means city workers can experience the focaccia magic that has been captivating Sydneysiders for months, without trekking out of the concrete jungle.

Salumerie’s reputation rests on their exceptional focaccia sandwiches, each a marriage of high-quality ingredients layered between slices of their signature fluffy focaccia bread. For this limited-time takeover, Sammy Junior will be swapping out their usual lunch offerings for a selection of five of Salumerie’s most beloved creations.

The classic “Caprese” featuring creamy buffalo mozzarella, juicy oxheart tomatoes, and fragrant basil pesto will be available, alongside the ever-popular “Parmigiana,” a delightful combination of eggplant parmigiana and buffalo mozzarella.

For those seeking something a little different, a “Porchetta” option featuring slow-roasted pork with smoked buffalo mozzarella and a touch of heat from chilli capsicum will be on offer. The “Classica” keeps things simple yet satisfying with prosciutto di parma, stracciatella cheese, and shaved parmesan.

The pièce de résistance, however, is a sandwich exclusive to the Sammy Junior pop-up. This creation features nduja mortadella, a spicy and spreadable sausage, paired with a vibrant pistachio pesto and the delightful textural contrast of crispy chilli stracciatella.

The sandwiches will be available for walk-in customers only, from 11 am until they sell out each day.  This is a testament to the popularity of Salumerie’s creations, so be sure to get in early to avoid disappointment.

Sammy Junior’s renowned coffee and beverage program will remain available throughout the pop-up, offering the perfect accompaniment to a delectable focaccia sandwich.

This collaboration between two Sydney favourites is a delicious opportunity to expand your lunchtime repertoire or take a well-deserved break.
