Sydney’s love affair with Italian cuisine is about to deepen as Salumerie, the much-loved Italian-inspired deli and café, opens its newest location in Manly.
Having just opened it’s doors, the third venue joins its thriving flagship in Potts Point and its CBD location on King Street.
Nestled on the East Esplanade, Salumerie Manly is ready to bring a taste of Naples to the Northern Beaches. Italian-born founder Donato Salomone, inspired by his childhood memories of traditional delis in Naples, is thrilled to expand his culinary empire. “Manly has such a vibrant, relaxed energy,” says Salomone. We couldn’t think of a better place to kick off summer.
At Salumerie, the hero of the menu is their signature focaccia sandwiches, made in-house and packed with premium ingredients. Expect crowd favourites like the vodka polpette, loaded with meatballs in vodka ragu, creamy buffalo ricotta, rocket, and parmesan, or the mortadella, featuring pistachio pesto, stracciatella, and crushed pistachios. The prosciutto di Parma, with stracciatella, rocket, parmesan, and olive oil, is another standout.
The deli also offers an impressive range of antipasto goodies, including grilled eggplant, oxheart tomatoes, and sundried tomatoes, as well as an extensive selection of deli meats and cheeses. It’s the perfect stop for a quick bite or to stock up for a picnic on the beach.
What’s new in Manly? Evening aperitivo service kicks off from Thursday to Sunday, 5pm to 8pm, where you can pair quintessential Italian snacks with a refreshing spritz or a glass of wine as the sun sets.
Salumerie Manly is open from 8am to 4pm Monday to Wednesday, with extended evening hours from Thursday to Sunday. Whether you’re grabbing a sandwich to-go or settling in for an aperitivo session, Salumerie’s should be top on your list of places to visit this summer.
