This February 8th, mark your diaries to embark on a flavourful tour of Italy’s best without the airfare. One of the world’s most celebrated panini purveyors, Alessandro Frassica of Ino Panino, is bringing his signature sandwiches to Sydney for two pop-ups in February at Sammy Junior in Sydney’s CBD and Maybe Sammy in The Rocks.
Head in early because you know these babies are going to sell out fast, with just a limited number of sandwiches available between 12.30 – 3.30pm. The sandwich menu will reflect the freshest ingredients Alessandro sources in Sydney, created with a signature Italian touch, by the master himself.
For those that aren’t familiar with Ino Panino, the multiple award-winning Florence eatery is visited by celebs on the reg, and has acquired the reputation of being the best in the biz. Thrust together by the foodie gods at a party in Italy, Stefano Catino, co-owner of Sydney’s Sammy Junior and Maybe Sammy, and Alessandro Frassica commenced planning of a panini-in-residence gig.
After much planning and anticipation, the time is almost upon us to witness the fruits of one of the world’s best cocktail bars, collide with the handiwork of one of the world’s best sandwich makers (voted Best Designer Sandwich at the 2022 Food and Wine Italia Awards and ranked #2 in the Top 10 best sandwiches in Italy by 50 Top Italy 2023) for an aperitivo hour you’d be foolish to miss!
Catch the pop-up at Sammy Junior for lunch on Wednesday, or head into Maybe Sammy between 4.30 – 7.30pm on Thursday 9 February where Alessandro will be creating a selection of aperitivo paninis served alongside Maybe Sammy’s selection of mini cocktails which are just $7 from 4.30 – 5.30pm.
