An Iconic Surry Hills Bar Is Hosting A Limited-Time Rosé Room Pop-Up This Week

Cool Sh*t, Drink, Sydney / 24 October 2022

Featuring a selection of the Loire Valley’s finest drops, backdropped to a glamorous, flower-filled room that will transport you to summers in central France.

From 27th – 30th October, Loire Valley Wine Council will take residence in their own exclusive tasting room at Surry Hills’ chateau de Clock Hotel.

With spring proving to be a little wetter than expected, Sydneysiders can find a little slice of French summer escape within the walls of The Clock Hotel. Freshly decked out to represent the very best of the ‘Garden of France’, the pop-up tasting room will be adorned with fresh spring blooms, decorations and a magical touch of je ne sais quoi for an authentic ‘summer in France’ experience.

The four-day event will showcase four exquisite French Loire rosés, paired with a decadent selection of French-inspired snacks and share plates designed by Clock Hotel chef Luke McEnallay. Pairings include an oh-so-sippable Rosé de Loire “Réserve des Vignerons” alongside a decadent saucisson and salumi platter from Pino’s Dolce Vita Butchery in Kogarah, served with flatbread and toasted sourdough.

If you believe good wines were made for good cheese, be sure to order the très Français blue cheese platter with cornichons, flatbread and toasted sourdough with a large glass of Rosé d’Anjou “Les Ligériens”. Its long fruity aftertaste of fresh grapes and strawberries pairs perfectly with the salty sharpness of a tasty blue.
