Riva Rose Bay — Refined Italian Dining on the Marina
Riva has opened at Rose Bay Marina, SRG Hospitality's flagship Italian restaurant sitting above sister venue Ripples Rose Bay on the water. Tuscan head chef Manuel Bellanti, who spent close to two decades across Europe's luxury hotels and Michelin-recognised kitchens including the Mandarin Oriental and Relais and Chateaux Il Pellicano, leads a menu built around handmade pasta, fresh seafood and seasonal produce.
Pasta anchors the menu, with ravioli del plin filled with mortadella and served in a prosciutto broth, and spaghetti all'aragosta bringing together WA lobster, bisque, basil and chilli. Elsewhere, a squid-ink risotto al nero is finished with ama ebi prawns and saffron, and a wagyu beef tartare comes topped with black truffle. The wine list moves through Italian regions and varietals alongside Australian expressions of the same grapes, while the cocktail program leans on Italian aperitifs, vermouths and grappa for a Mediterranean, low-fuss finish.
The room takes its cues from the Riva yacht, with polished mahogany timber and scalloped dining chairs setting a glamorous but unstuffy tone against the marina backdrop. It suits a long lunch as easily as sunset drinks or dinner by the water, and ferries into Rose Bay Wharf sit just moments away for anyone arriving by boat or public transport.
