The crew from the hospitality group Applejack has transformed this favourite Surry Hills pub.
Pouring drinks in Surry Hills for more than 100 years, Forrester’s timber beams and weathered floors have been maintained for an old pub feel in the Public Bar with a fresh, contemporary vibe in the other spaces.
Phylli’s Garden and Cocktail bar seems to have been inspired by a greenhouse, while the Art Room is the perfect space for cosy catch ups.
In classic pub fashion, the menu sticks to comfort foods. Expect cheeseburgers, steaks, schnitzels and fish and chips… with sticky date pudding for dessert, of course.
The staple here though, is The Big Yorkie. A plate sized Yorkshire pudding served with a roast – not the other way around, and not restricted to just Sundays.
