St Siandra

Oysters on the sand at St Siandra

On The Spit in Mosman, St Siandra is a beachside Mediterranean restaurant where the sand, the water and the dining room all share the same address. The setting has always been the drawcard, and now the food, wine and service are pulling their weight too.

St Siandra has always had the view, but it now has a menu that matches it. Head Chef Kerem Engin takes familiar Mediterranean flavours and gives them an Australian accent with native ingredients like finger lime, saltbush, warrigal greens and quandong. The result feels natural rather than novel, with dishes you already love tasting a little brighter and a lot more local. The wine list is arranged by style and weight, so it is easy to move from light, mineral whites through to fuller reds without second guessing. New tableware, glassware and a team wide service training programme round it out, so the polish is felt at the table as much as the scenery. Inside, the sunny yellow dining room, marble bar and Italian furniture keep things warm and relaxed. Arrive by foot, boat or water taxi, step off the wharf and start with oysters on the beach before heading in.
