Sandy’s Sydney Olympic Park — Burgers, Fish Tacos and Spritzes Beside the Surf Lagoon

Inland and surfside may sound like a juxtaposition, but Sandy’s menu and sun-soaked decor beautifully blend together at this cafe next to URBNSURF in Olympic Park.

By day, sip on frozen drinks, fresh juices and nourishing smoothies and swap to cold beers, fruity cocktails and Australian wines once the sun dips below the wave pool.

With a menu crafted by Matias Cillóniz, the same chef as RAFI North Sydney and RAFI URBNSURF, Sandy’s serves up elevated cafe favourites. In the morning, enjoy avocado toast, açai bowls and breakfast burritos. By noon, the menu transitions into a selection of hand-held favourites. Cheeseburgers, wraps, crispy calamari and fish tacos make for the perfect post-surf meal.

The space was designed by architect Luchetti Krelle, who has designed dozens of restaurants across Sydney and the state, and shoes here are definitely optional.

Quick Bites

EAT: Crispy fish tacos with cabbage, jalapeño and avo verde, or Sandy's double cheeseburger with fries. Before 11:30am, go for the brekky burrito.
DRINK: A Limoncello Spritz on the terrace, or the Seasonal Surf's Up Slushie with a shot of your favourite spirit.
PLAY: Book a poolside cabana on Sandy's Lawn and watch the surfers ride the waves at Sydney's only surf park.
