Chiosco by Ormeggio sits on the jetty at D'Albora Marina, right next door to two-hatted Ormeggio at The Spit, with sweeping views over Middle Harbour and the marina's luxury boats. BYO and barefoot-friendly, it is the more relaxed side of Alessandro Pavoni's waterfront dining, built around rustic Italian trattoria cooking just like nonna makes.

This is the place to eat with your hands, share everything and stay longer than planned. The vitello tonnato is a must-try. Tuna cream perfectly judged, dotted with deep-fried capers, parsley oil and toasty pine nuts. The pasta is among Sydney's best, and the waterfront setting does the rest. BYO wine and Champagne with $20 per bottle corkage, takeaway window open from 8am daily, and boat catering available for those arriving by water.
