If you’re looking for the ultimate seafood experience, you can’t go past Fish Butchery. Fishmongers Manly has been a local institution for the better part of a decade, serving up light tempura-style battered fish with delicious hand-cut thick chips. Out Of The Blue Clovelly

For a takeaway joint, the crew at Out Of The Blue Clovelly takes a distinctly different approach to grab-and-go dining. At this Sydney institution known for its epic burgers and of course, fish and chips, you won’t find any single-use plastic bags with paper bags and cardboard boxes on offer for big orders. On the menu, you’ll find all the classics including sustainably source NZ Hoki, Hake and more, along with six dipping sauces made fresh in-house.

This casual beachfront take-away spot is the perfect spot to nab a gourmet picnic hamper, coffee, artisan ice pop and stellar box of fish and chips to enjoy on the sand. 

The Newport

A local favourite for Northern Beaches folk for decades, The Newport is a must-visit spot for those looking for a waterfront seafood feast. Boasting stunning Pittwater views with plenty of alfresco seating, The Newport is a relaxed destination for all-day-dining. Seafood lovers won’t be disappointed with the selection here, boasting a dedicated Seafood Market menu of freshly shucked oysters, prawns, fish and chips and so much more.

Fat Fish, Annandale 

Owned by brothers Manny and Jon Notaras, Fat Fish is a fish and chip shop that has been loved by locals and visitors for over 100 years! With so much experience and passion behind them, it’s no wonder Fat Fish is often quoted as the best fish and chips in Sydney. On the menu, you will find an array of fresh seafood, as well as burgers, fried favourites like Chiko rolls, and a gourmet section that includes the likes of Greek-style octopus and garlic prawns.

Charcoal Fish, Rose Bay 

In the dreamy suburb of Rose Bay, you’ll find Charcoal Fish, a takeaway joint serving up restaurant-quality seafood and vegetables. On the menu is a delectable selection of barbequed and fried seafood, featured with chips, in burgers, or stuffed in pita and gravy rolls. The focus is on sustainability, so you can enjoy your yellowfin tuna pita or Southern fried corner inlet flathead burger knowing the fish has been sustainably caught. Fich at Petersham 

For those in the Inner West, Fich is a must-visit. Serving up sustainable Australian and New Zealand paired with seasonal local produce, you can’t go wrong when you order off their seafood menu. While they offer the grilled fish options you’d expect from any good fish and chippery, you will find a selection of snacks that set them apart. These include the raw salmon FICH tacos to the FICH poke bowl and ‘FICH’ popcorn ‘n chips. Their salads are also worth a try too, we especially love the fennel salad.
