Discover the beauty right in your backyard, starting with a stay at Ovolo’s luxury accommodation in Woolloomooloo.

Sometimes a staycation is all you need to fall back in love with your city. With the lockdown keeping us from exploring our home and Sydneysiders stuck within the constraints of their apartments, every day was starting to feel like groundhog day and that Sydney had less to offer. We’re now free and it’s time to start exploring the goodness right in our backyards starting with Ovolo, Woolloomooloo’s award-winning luxury accommodation.

Nestled on Finger Bay Wharf, the hotel is just a short walk from the city centre and nightlife within the precinct making it the perfect getaway. There are 100 hotel rooms to choose from with the most boasting picturesque views of Sydney Harbour. Combine this with contemporary interiors, a free mini-bar, 24-hour room service, gym and pool access and an open lolly bar, and you might just have one of Sydney’s most inviting hotels.

The building itself dates back to 1912 but it has been given new life by the architects from Hassell Studio and designer Matt Sheargold. Structurally it is quite industrial with the original exposed wooden means and timber floors. However, the interiors give the place a fashionable edge with plush seating, bright colours, contemporary art and cutting edge technology scattered throughout the hotel.

The rooms are all spacious and designed with comfort in mind. Prices start at $359 per night and with that, you’ll get a free continental breakfast and all the regular inclusions. If you’re looking to impress, the ‘Rockstar Suites’ are fitted out with its very own cocktail bar, stand-alone bathtub, balcony, a separate lounge and dining area, and gorgeous Sydney City skyline views.

The hotel also has its very own restaurant, Alibi Bar & Kitchen, that is pushing the boundaries of innovative dining in Sydney. The menu is 100% plant-based, designed by US celebrity chef Matthew Kenney. The menu features dishes including Lasagne with tomato marinara and macadamia ricotta, Sea Terrain with broad beans, seaweed foam and chive oil, Smoked Choclo with sweet potato gnocchi, amaranth and sorghum, and Strawberry Shortcake with lemon verbena ice cream.

Cocktail enthusiasts can lap it up at the lobby bar. Choose from the White Satin with Ketel Vodka, Licor 43, Creme de Peche Liqueur and artisanal oat milk, the Honey Honey with Roku Japanese Gin, vegan honey, macadamia oil, Brookie’s Macadamia and Wattlesee Liqueur and Amaro Montenegro, and the Jungle Love with Tamarind-infused Ketel 1 Vodka, housemade tepache, lemon juice, salted pineapple and caramel syrup.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic overnight stay, travelling for business or looking to treat yourself, Ovolo provides a beautiful getaway in the heart of our city!
