Dive into Oceans Dining and Drinks
When you think of Coogee, you probably think of Sunday sessions on top of Coogee Pavillion, or chowing down on a pub feed at Coogee Bay Hotel. Well, another cocktail bar is making it’s mark on the Coogee seaside: Oceans Dining and Drinks. Located on the ground floor of the luxurious Crowne Plaza Hotel and inches away from the sands of Coogee, this may be the place where you waste away your summer.
They are all about cocktails here, with a new cocktail bar, and a range of new and exciting recipes to tempt you. The Apothecarys Wife is a tantalizing mix of botanical ingredients including yellow chartreuse, London dry gin and French absinthe. Anti-liquorice people beware, it’s a got a strong taste of it. The less divisive Break of Dawn is a well-balanced mix of vodka, passionfruit with a hint of chamomile to soothe your woes.
Now it wouldn’t be a beachside bar without a seafood platter, and Ocean Dining and Drinks don’t disappoint. For a cool $96, you and a few friends can devour their Chefs Cold Seafood Selection, featuring favourites like lobster, Balmain Bugs, king prawns, blue swimmer crabs, oysters and a homemade salmon gravalax.
Other plates that certainly impress is their BBQ quail with fried eggplant or their moreish wagyu sausage rolls with delectable home made tomato relish.
The bar has just undergone a revamp by the ladies at SG Living, and now contains a luxurious lounge and dining complex, complete with dedicated cocktail making bar, to bring back some old-school style. So, if you are feeling like a slice of Coogee, definitely consider a bite to eat in their new dining room. Alternatively relax under the sun in their timeless courtyard, and watch the summer moments drift by.
