Lune’s legendary croissants are finally gracing our streets!
The wait is over. Lune Croissanterie, the Melbourne bakery famed for its flaky, buttery croissants, has finally graced Sydney with its presence and will be opening Saturday 7th December. Lune has found a new home in the heart of Rosebery Engine Yards, a revitalised heritage site south of the CBD.
For those unfamiliar with Lune, it’s more than just a bakery – it’s a pilgrimage destination. Founder Kate Reid, a former Formula 1 aerodynamicist, brings a meticulous and innovative approach to baking. Each Lune croissant is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted over three days using the finest ingredients. The result? A symphony of textures – a shattering exterior yielding to a soft, pillowy interior that melts in your mouth.
The new Rosebery venue promises to be a celebration of Lune’s dedication to the art of pastry making. The heritage building’s industrial aesthetic aligns perfectly with Lune’s signature style. Think exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and a modern, futuristic twist where you can watch expert pastry chefs work their magic through large glass panels.
Lune Rosebery will be a fully-fledged production store, meaning all the magic happens right on-site. Diners can enjoy their flaky delights right there, savouring the fresh-from-the-oven goodness. But worry not, city workers – a satellite Lune store is also planned for the Sydney Metro Martin Place Precinct, ensuring everyone gets their croissant fix.
Opening to punters this Saturday, with more than 65 staff at the ready to prepare pastries for the masses. Sydneysiders can expect to kickstart the weekend the in the best way, biting into the legendary croissants that we have all been waiting for. So mark your calendars and get ready to experience the Lune magic for yourselves. After all, a good croissant is always worth the wait.
Lune’s Sydney flagship lands in Rosebery Engine Yards Saturday 7th December 115/151 Dunning Ave this year, with a CBD satellite store at 1 Elizabeth St, Martin Place.
