Kasbah: A Must-Visit Moroccan Rooftop Paradise

Bars, Drink, Sydney / 25 October 2023

Darlinghurst now boasts a lavish Moroccan rooftop paradise called Kasbah, an ideal spot for sunset cocktails with stunning views of the Sydney city skyline.

Nestled within The Strand Hotel’s recent makeover, Kasbah provides a unique escape in the heart of Darlinghurst. As you leave the bustling William’s Street behind and ascend to the rooftop, you’ll discover a Moroccan-inspired rooftop paradise designed for enjoying sunset drinks and absorbing the enchanting city skyline.

Kasbah’s ambiance is a dream come true for those who appreciate the vibrant colours and ambiance of Marrakesh. Picture pastel lounges, lively tiles, Persian rugs, and abundant greenery. Every corner of this rooftop offers a stunning backdrop, making it a haven for Instagram-worthy moments.

Clayton Wells from downstairs in the Strand Bistrothèque has introduced a menu with a French Moroccan influence. The focus here is on sharing, creating a relaxed and casual dining experience. You can relish delectable options like Sydney Rock Oysters, Gildas, Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, and Moroccan-inspired dishes such as Lamb Kefta and Chargrilled Octopus with harissa, complemented by Zaalouk and fresh Pita.

The drinks menu at Kasbah is nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the renowned Maybe Sammy team. Sip on the Silk Road, a delightful blend of vodka, coffee liquor, tahini, cardamom, and rose water, or the Sultan Sour featuring rum, sultanas, cashew orgeat, pear, lime, and mandarin soda. As for the wine selection, it’s meticulously curated by Mike Bennie, a wine expert from P&V Merchants. You can expect a variety of wines with a focus on minimal intervention winemaking techniques.

Kasbah offers an enticing rooftop escape, complete with Moroccan-inspired decor, delectable shared plates, and an exceptional selection of beverages. Pop this to the top of your sunset drinks list! Find out more here.
