What no Bondi Cheap Eats list would be complete without: cheap-as-chips tacos! The Beach Burrito Company has no shortage of bargain priced comida. The taqueria is only a short walk from the beach where tacos are $6 all day, every day. They can all also be made gluten-free (just ask their team). Nab a burrito (served on a giant 12 inch tortilla) for just $15.95 or grab a bowl of their famous Chilli Nachos for $15.95. Me gusta!

Beach Road Hotel
Beach Road Hotel is the home of good times, live beats and cheap eats. They have food specials every day of the week, so you’ll never be caught out. Start your week with their $15 250 gram steak on Mondays, served with salad slaw, fries and red wine. On Tuesdays, nab a $10 pizza with your choice of topping (Pepperoni, Inferno Salami, Capricciosa, Margherita, Meat Lovers or Gambero). Swing by for their mid-week burger party happening all day Wednesday with flavours such as fried chicken, Angus cheeseburger of falafel served up for just $12. And ease into the weekend with their 50 cent chicken wings, available from 5 pm to 8 pm every Friday.

Bondi Rumba
There’s much delicioso to nibble and bite at Bondi Rumba, the suburb’s favourite Mexican beach shack. All the usual suspects are on offer: tacos, burritos and quesadillas and more. Nab yourself one their oh-so-tasty gluten-free tacos ($7.50 each) in flavours such as their Speedy Gonzales (Haloumi, onion, black beans, capsicum, corn salsa and guac) or Taco de Chorizo y Papa (loaded with chorizo, fries, salsa, cheese, guac and pico). Plus, you’ll find pints of 4 Pines Pale Ale for just $11.

El Topo Mexican
Lively rooftop joint El Topo Mexican offers over 80 types of tequila. Always a plus. As are their extensive range of tacos, made to be devoured in copious quantities. Sample your way from soft shell crab to roast pork tacos, all just $6 a pop. Plus, their enchiladas won’t set you back more than $17. Our tip? Stop by on Tuesday nights to take advantage of their $3 taco special (available from 4 pm). Plus, wash it all down $10 Margaritas,$5 craft beers and $20 sangria jugs at their Tuesday to Friday Happy Hour (4 pm to 7 pm).

Gelato Messina
There’s nothing that quite spells summer quite like ice cream on the beach, or gelato in this case. Positively overflowing with 40+ classic flavours such as Dulce de Leche, Pandan and Coconut, and Tiramisu as well as weekly specials, Gelato Messina is a sure-fire hit that combines deliciousness and wallet-affability. A single scoop will set you back $5.30.

Burger Project
Looking for a hearty feed that won’t break the bank? Flock to Bondi’s Burger Project to dive into all the burger-licious goodness you can stomach. The best bit? These bad boys start at just $12.50, with flavour such as the American (grass-fed beef, cheese, pickles, onions, mustard and secret sauce), Chicken (loaded with Southern Style Fried free-range chicken with pickles and aioli) plus the Mushroom (made with crumbed confit mushroom, cheese, pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce, mustard and secret sauce). Complete your burger experience with a house-made soda ($4).

Mappen Noodle Bar
You’ll be udon for noodles at Japanese canteen Mappen Noodle Bar. Everything is under $10.90. So whether you’re hankering for a tonkotsu soup or craving a rice bowl, hunger pangs will be sorted.

Stuffed Beaver
Canadian-themed dive bar Stuffed Beaver makes no apologies for it’s finger-licking menu. The hot wings, BBQ wings and Hawaiian wings are all $11.99. But the Poutine is a must! The Classic, a melty pot of fries, gravy and cheese, is only $14.99, while the Lumberjack Poutine with bacon is just $16.99.

La Piadina
Forget pizza, La Piadina serves up authentic renditions of the classic Northern Italian flatbread. Made fresh on-site, dough is filed with glorious Italian flavours, folded and then cooked to cheesy goodness. The kitchen rotates through 11 fixed choices and 11 specials. From smoked ham and mozzarella ($13) to their buffalo mozzarella with roasted cherry tomato and basil ($15), you won’t find anything on the menu over $21.
