New neighbourhood wine bar, Bazaar & Bar in Brookvale, is reimagining Indian dining with spice, soul, and seriously good sips. 

Opening early July, Bazaar & Bar is the latest addition to Brookvale’s fast-evolving dining scene, blending regional Indian flavours with small-batch wines, inventive cocktails, and a warm, contemporary space designed for locals. 

The vision comes from Kabir Arora (Salt Meats Cheese, Sketch Manly) and rising chef Adwait Jagtap (ex. Kolkata Social, Raja), who both bring childhood memories to the plate. This is modern Indian food with heart, rooted in heritage, driven by produce, and perfect for sharing. 

It’s not just about the food, the drinks play an equally central role, including a curated selection of Australian wines and five unique cocktail creations, such as a Garam Masala Negroni made with house-spiced vermouth and a curry leaf Gimlet. 

  • What to Eat: Start with small plates like mushroom pepper fry or semolina-crusted kingfish. Then dive into the Champaran Mutton, slow-cooked goat on the bone. 
  • What to Drink: A curated list of Australian wines and cocktails with an Indian flair, like the smoked Jaggery Old Fashioned. 
  • When to Go: Open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday, with Friday & Saturday lunch service. 
  • Cost: Mid-range. Lots of shared plates.
