Archie Rose launches a Vegemite flavoured Spirit, ArchieMite

Cool Sh*t, Sydney / 6 May 2019

You can now enjoy a Vegemite and buttered toast flavoured spirit- yes you read that correctly.

Archie Rose, the award-winning distillery based in Rosebery, has taken Aussies’ love of the salty-spread to a new level with their latest creation of ArchieMite. This Vegemite and buttery toast flavoured spirit has been crafted with none other than the finest artisan butter by Pepe Saya, a house-mix of ‘mite’ spread and Sonoma sourdough toast in the distilling process.

You will be able to get a taste of the umami-rich spirit when it launches at the Archie Rose Bar on Wednesday 8th May. This un-aged spirit has a big, mighty character and is likely to divide people.  Expect biscuity, bready notes, and a combination of buttery, almost warm, crisp-edged toast with that umami-rich, savoury mite flavour.

Archie Rose Bar will be holding a series of themed ‘Mitey Brunches’, running from 12-2pm every Saturday and Sunday during May 11 – June 2. Expect to see the likes of an Espresso Mite-ini and Mitey Bloody Mary. And for food, it’s no surprise there will be Sonoma bread, Pepe Saya butter and breakfast spreads to create a build-your-own platter.

And why stop there? Archie Rose will also be collaborating with their Rosebery neighbours, Gelato Messina to create gelato sandwiches. Featuring Sonoma bread, Pepe Saya Butter and breakfast ‘mites’, available from May 8 until sold out.

If you want to get a bottle, be quick. There is just 3000 bottles of this limited-edition run. Available in bars, independent bottle shops and online for $79 per bottle. ArchieMite is available to purchase online from 10.30am on Wednesday, May 8.
