151, Hidden Speakeasy Bar Just Opened In The Rocks

Bars, Sydney / 24 May 2021

A pop-up speakeasy bar has just opened down an unassuming laneway in The Rocks. Have you spotted it?

Just when you think there are no more hidden alleyways or holes in the wall to open another “hidden bar” in Sydney, some genius finds one. 151 has just opened its doors in the heart of The Rocks down an unassuming laneway called Mill Lane. Upon first glance, the cobblestone road and shadowy lighting make the lane feel it belongs in a scary movie. Upon second glance, you’ll see it’s a Sydney nightlife sanctuary beholding the cities best-kept secrets (until now).

Head down the alleyway and stop when you see a vibrant red door with the number 151 – there’s more than meets the eyes when you push the door open.  You’ll be greeted by a sign that says, ‘watch your step’ indeed confirming that you have just discovered the undergrown hidden bar. Once you make your way down the stairs, notice as the world transforms before your eyes. Feel as though you’ve gone back in time with a dimly lit space, retro furnishings and velvet drapes that you can feel in your mind without a touch. Hidden bars have a way of making you lose track of time so make sure you have nowhere to be.The bartenders are serving all your favourite drinks including local craft beers and perfectly concocted cocktails including the Gin Rickey and Espresso Martini. If you like hard liquor, ask the bartenders about the selection of premium whiskeys, and of course, top-notch wines and champagnes are on offer. Happy Hour is celebrated daily from 4pm till 6pm where you’ll score $5 Young Henrys Beer & Cider, as well as $10 zesty margaritas. If you work up an appetite bending your elbow and slinging back beverages, there are moreish late-night bar snacks including sliders and toasties

The bar is here for a good time not a long time! Open from Wednesday through to Saturday from now until mid-June, 4.00pm till late.
