Join Angus & Bon for a brunch that’s a little rock n roll, especially when you add a Bloody Mary!
Melbourne’s cooling down which means getting out of bed on the weekend is set to become increasingly challenging. Luckily, Angus & Bon, Prahran have started serving up breakfast and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, giving you a delectable reason to get up and at ‘em whatever the weather.
Situated on Prahran’s iconic Greville Street in the beautiful old Post Office building, you can rest assured that the name Angus & Bon is no coincidence. The venue pays homage to its street’s rock n roll reputation, namely ACDC’s presence. In fact, at one time the legendary Bon Scott lived around the corner. Keep your eyes peeled for the subtle ACDC references throughout the eatery and its menus.
Heading inside you’re immediately greeted by a sense of warmth and comfort. Dark green and brown leather seating, rich timber and a large classic bar delivers old school luxury and the feeling of really being out for a quality meal. And a quality meal is exactly what you get.
With influences from England, Ireland, Japan and Canada, the new Angus & Bon breakfast menu reflects the melting-pot that is the Australian dining scene. If you’re hungry, the full breakfast will have you satisfied in no time, and it doesn’t leave anything out. Housemade traditional black pudding, smoked ham hock beans, bacon, wild mushrooms, confit duck fat potato hash brown, pork sausage, tomato and Q Le Baker country loaf. When they say full breakfast, they mean it! There is a smaller version available too for those wanting all the flavours without the big appetite.
The Benedict Croquette is a twist on the traditional benedict – a breakfast favourite. Ham hock croquettes fried to golden perfection with a spinach purée, rich hollandaise and a poached egg. Or go for something different with the Miso Torched Mackerel accompanied by a light salad of apple, radicchio and fennel drizzled in yuzu. If you’re up for an option that’s sweeter and lighter, Angus & Bon can help you with that too. Maple banana bread with walnuts and mascarpone or coconut granola, anyone?
If you’re there after midday, a Bloody Mary will get you rockin’. Angus & Bon’s very own blend includes Worcestershire sauce, Shiraz, Sriracha hot sauce and homemade pickle brine. A tasty weekend treat that’ll knock your socks off.
Not only is Angus & Bon a hotpot for an epic steak, its breakfast and brunch offering will now ensure you’re satisfied the whole day through.
