Discover Uncle Ming's, one of Sydney’s best hidden bars
Uncle Ming's is a subterranean cocktail bar and dumpling house. Hidden below York Street with no street signage, you'll have to keep your wits about you to actually find Uncle Ming's. But that's part of the fun. Behind the unassuming entrance, glowing red lanterns, steaming bamboo baskets and cocktails with a little attitude set the tone for a night that usually goes on longer than planned.
The menu leans into Asian favourites, with dumplings that disappear almost as quickly as the drinks arrive, prawn toast that might be one of Sydney's best, and cheeseburger spring rolls that are as delightfully stoner-chic as they sound. The cocktail list strikes a sweet spot between seriously fun (hello Tequila Boba tea) and seriously spirited - check out the huge Japanese whisky list if you're feeling fancy.
