$10 margs, 10 greatest menu hits, and a 10-dish set menu are just some of the ways you can celebrate Mejico’s milestone birthday.
As Sydney endeavours on it’s own Mexican wave of taco-centric new venues, we’re delighted to see the OG of Sydney’s Mexican dining scene turning 10 with a ten-day lineup of flavour and fun that’s fresher than ever.
Famous for offering Australia’s largest range of tequila shaken up into Sydney’s best spicy Jalapeño Margarita, it’s only natural that celebrations should kick off on World Margarita Day. Drop in between 22nd Feb – 3rd March to catch a selection of Mejico’s all-time best-selling margaritas for just $10 a pop! Choose from a Classic – made with Herradura tequila, Triple Sec, lime and agave, Passionfruit or the renowned Jalapeño Margarita to whet your whistle before making the most of $10 tacos also available throughout the celebrations.
Mejico first folkloricoed onto Pitt St back in 2013, and in the time it’s taken to cement their status as a Sydney institution, they’ve racked up a significant list of dishes from menus past and present that continue to occupy our gastronomic memory bank.
Over the course of ten days, guests will be able to order from a limited-time menu featuring 10 of Mejico’s greatest hits, remastered for a 2023 rendition you don’t want to miss.
Chompable greatest hits include; a throwback Lamb Taco with gremolata, pico de gallo and mint mayo; a Three Bean Dip featuring slow-cooked cannellini, black turtle and kidney beans with gently spiced tomato salsa, mozzarella and crunchy hand-cut tortilla chips; plus, the iconic Corn Lollipop with chipotle mayo and popcorn that is sure to set the party poppin’.
To drink, Mejico loyalists will be able to slurp the Guadalajaran once more – charred pineapple-infused Herradura Blanco tequila with passionfruit, vanilla, pineapple, cranberry and citrus, plus a further four quaffable libations will make a guest appearance.
The fiesta is set to culminate in a 10th Birthday Fiesta of gastronomic proportions on Saturday 4th March with a 10-dish set menu including cocktail on arrival, door prizes for every guest, face painters, Tequila tastings throughout the night and a live DJ to keep the party pumping.
